Game Industry Promotion Alliance (GIPA) was founded in 2006 under the supervision of Taipei Computer Association (TCA). Being the only representative of the game industry in Taiwan, its members include all the major game developers, distributors and operators. The Alliance aims to serve as the platform between the government and the game industry, creating a better environment for the industry and facilitating more communication and collaboration opportunities with international counterparts.
The Alliance has so far achieved several significant results. First, as one of the emerging strategic industry operators, the Alliance has succeeded in lobbying tax-reduction for local game developer. Second, to promote the benignant interaction between consumers and game operators, the Alliance also helps to stipulate a form contract for online games. Moreover, it is keen on creating a positive image for the game industry and bringing more people to enjoy the fun of playing games.
In the future, GIPA will aggressively enhance the industry cluster effect, and create more international cooperation opportunities. With the efforts of every member, the ultimate goal of promoting the gaming industry in Taiwan will be realized some day!
