Taipei Game Show is set to start on January 25-29, 2018 at Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC). The organizer, Taipei Computer Association (TCA), today announced the theme of this year: "Game Unlimited," highlighting a cross-platform, cross-generation, and cross-nation innovation spirit. The show features B2C Zone, B2B Zone, and the collocated Asia Pacific Game Summit (APGS). Highlight #1: APGS brings eSports-related and gamer-specific sessions
For the first time ever, APGS adds sessions specifically designed for gamers to its agenda and invites game studios/publishers such as Akatsuki, Digital Crafter, and Garena to talk about what kinds of talent and experience are required to work in the gaming industry. In response to the emerging trends of eSports and VR/AR, the agenda includes a series of panel sessions such as "eSports Industry Forum" with panelists from industry, government, and academia. Representatives of Riot Games, JFI Games, and MINESKI (from Philippines) will be sharing their views on future trends and developments of eSports. On the VR/AR front, IHS Markit, Mythical City Games, and OMAS Entertainment (Taiwan) will share their insights into future opportunities of VR/AR and their applications in gaming and theme park rides.
