This Gold Card combined all the convenience to be your powerful support for your industry exchanges in Taiwan.

Furthermore, the Ministry announces the launch of incentives, the "Guidelines for International Digital Economy Talents Applying for Industry Exchanges." These guidelines provide Employment Gold Card holders engaged in digital economy-related activities with incentives such as airfare and accommodation allowances to facilitate their contributions in the digital economy sector in Taiwan.

Cardholders are allowed to freely seek employment, work, part time jobs, and switch jobs in Taiwan.

What are the qualification requirements?

Must meet ONE of the following requirements:

  • Working Seniority: Over 8 years of professional experience in the digital economy sector.
  • Compensation: Employed in a relevant field with a recent monthly salary of at least NT$160,000.
  • Academic Achievement: Graduated from a university ranked in the Top 500 worldwide and holding a doctoral degree from that institution.
  • Relevant Expertise: Included academic certifications, winning awards, or having more than 4 years of relevant work experience.

How much does the Gold Card cost?

The cost is dependent on country of citizenship and duration of the Gold Card. For US Citizens, the cost is NT $7,605-9,605 ($250-310 USD). For residents of Hong Kong and Macau, the price is NT $3,100 ($750 HKD). For everyone else, the cost is NT $3,700-5,700 ($100-200 USD).

How do I get this industry exchange travel subsidy?

Gold Card holders visiting Taiwan for“digital economy” business purposes until October 31, 2024, can enjoy a bonus allocation for airfare, accommodation, internet fees, and related expenses. The digital economy business activities include but are not limited to the following：enterprise hiring、business collaboration、consulting advisory、park residency、guiding mentor、competition judging、keynote speech、pitching in competitions、exhibition negotiations.   • Individual Application：The applicant shall apply for the industry exchange at least 15 working days prior to their arrival in Taiwan.
    Documents Required：
    1. Proof of Employment Gold Card ownership or application.
    2. Basic personal information.
    3. Business trip agenda in Taiwan.
    4. Description of the obligations planned to be fulfilled.
  • Organizational Application：The applying unit shall apply for the industry exchange at least 30 working days before the event is held.
    Documents Required：
    1. Digital economy activities information.
    2. List of invited Employment Gold Card holders.
    3. Statement of Liabilities and Obligations.
