The Lost Foxfire is a novel multisensory Virtual Reality (VR) game that uses sensory feedback (heat & smell) to engage players in an immersive VR gaming experience as players don a headset and a suit equipped with five heat modules to sense heat on the front, back, left, right of the neck, and one for the face together with a smell module.
The gameplay is to chase after a fox spirit that enjoys setting things on fire. Players must prevent the spirit from burning down a sacred temple by weakening the spirit using a fire extinguisher. However the fox is a cunning spirit that is able to create fake clones of itself. Players have to rely on heat and smell feedback to find the real one. The sensory cues pushes traditional VR gaming boundaries beyond conventional sense of sight and hearing but also touch and smell to win the game.
